There's something about a proper Sunday roast that just makes the weekend feel complete. The smell of something slow-cooked, a table full of people you like, and that comfortable feeling of knowing there's nowhere else you need to be. Now add a seafront view, a glass of something cold and a menu packed with Welsh produce, and you've got yourself a Sunday worth getting out of bed for.

That's exactly what we're serving up every week at The Goat, one of the newest restaurants in Llandudno and already a firm favourite for Sunday lunch on the promenade.

Sunday Lunch with a View

If you're wondering where to eat in Llandudno on a Sunday, we'd love you to start here. The Goat sits right on Llandudno Promenade, looking out over the seafront, and our open-plan dining room is the kind of place where long Sunday lunches just happen naturally.

Whether you're after a quiet table for two or a bigger setup for the whole family, we've got the space and the menu to match. Our Sunday menu is served every week from 12pm to 8pm, giving you plenty of time to settle in. Two courses for £28 or three courses for £34, with starters, mains and desserts all included in the price.

The Sunday Roasts

Let's get to the good stuff. The Sunday roast lineup at The Goat features roast sirloin of Welsh beef with a dripping Yorkshire pudding, slow-cooked Welsh lamb with caramelised onion stuffing and mint jus, and roast porchetta with caramelised onion stuffing. Every roast is served with goose-fat roast potatoes and the chef's vegetables.

If you want to go all in, add-ons include three-cheese cauliflower cheese, extra goose-fat roasties and additional Yorkshire puddings because one is never quite enough.

Not Just Roasts

While our Sunday roasts are the headline act, the menu has plenty for those who fancy something different. Pan-fried hake with yellow split pea dahl, curried mussels and zhoug is a standout, or there's a chicken and bacon Caesar salad for something lighter. The barley risotto with onion, mushroom, asparagus and Parmesan is a great vegetarian option too.

Start and Finish Strong

A great Sunday lunch deserves a proper beginning, and our starters are designed to do exactly that. Asparagus soup with crispy hen's egg, truffle oil and Parmesan is a beautiful spring choice. There's also whipped liver parfait with orange chutney, chicken butter and brioche, pea and mint hummus with smoked nuts and lemon oil focaccia, or Guinness rarebit with poached hen's egg, sourdough and lava bread for something with real Welsh character.

For dessert, the sticky toffee pudding with malt vinegar caramel and vanilla ice cream is a crowd favourite. Still, the warm chocolate pudding with chocolate mousse and blackberry ice cream gives it a good run. If you prefer something lighter, there's rhubarb crumble with lemon mascarpone, a custard tart with strawberries and banana ice cream, or a Welsh cheese board featuring Mon Las, Perl Wen and Hafod with crackers, chutney, sauerkraut, grapes and celery.
